It is with great pleasure that we announce the 100th Anniversary of the Vancouver/Burnaby Branch of the BCRMTA!

In 1920, the founders of the Branch had a vision to unit music educators and provide professional development. From these early efforts a provincial association (BCRMTA) was developed in 1932, which then joined with other Provinces to form a national association (CFMTA) in 1935. Our branch was pivotal to the growth of the Registered Music Teachers‘ Association and even hosted the first CFMTA conference in 1935.

Plans are currently underway to mark the Branch’s Centennial.

  1. Special Events -Although we cannot gather in person in 2020, the Executive is working to host one or two special online events, stay tuned for more information. A larger 100th Anniversary Celebration will hopefully be possible in the Fall or Winter of 2021.
