On Sunday April 14, 2024, the Vancouver/Burnaby Branch will hold in-person auditions to select our representative and one alternate for the BC Piano Competition to be held on September 13 & 14, 2024 at Clarion Hotel & Conference Centre in Abbotsford, BC. The alternate will replace the winner should they be unable to compete for any reason.

Please note:
- Each BCRMTA Vancouver/Burnaby branch teacher may submit ONE candidate only.
- The Branch auditions are “closed” with only the performer, the adjudicator and an assistant present in the room.
- Candidate must include at least two contrasting selections (ARCT level or higher) to be performed during the selection process. This must include ONE movement of a Classical sonata and ONE Canadian work.
- There is a strict time limit of 20 minutes (from the first note to the last note and spaces in between), so please be accurate to avoid being cut off.
- Candidates must be studying with a Vancouver/Burnaby branch member at the time of entry. If chosen, student would also need to be with a branch member for the competition in September 2024.
