President's Greetings
ELECTION OF THE 2018 EXECUTIVE BOARD
Our branch's Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place on Monday, January 29, 2018 at Long and McQuade (368 Terminal Ave., Vancouver). Nominations for the 2018-2019 Executive Board is now being accepted by the Chair of the Nominations Committee, Jammy Smith at jammy@telus.net.
All nominations must be received in writing no later than December 31, 2017. Nominations must be proposed and seconded by two (2) members in good standing and nominees must signify their willingness to stand for election. In order to propose, or to second, or to accept a nomination, members must have attended at least two (2) General Meetings of the Branch since the AGM in January 2017.
The following nominations have been proposed:

Vice-President: Hailey Wong
Past President: Jammy Smith
Treasurer: Karin Wang
Recording Secretary: Drema Chuang
Correspondence Secretary: Cindy Leung
The remainder of the Committee members will be confirmed by the new Executive.
STUDENT TEACHERS’ AUXILIARY NEWS
Our membership continues to grow as we look forward to welcoming even more students from all disciplines. Events this year will include a session on the Russian School of playing and teaching, tips on how to teach ear training and sight reading, attending Marc-Andre Hamelin’s March recital and pre-concert talk, master classes for the STA members, and the annual STA Recital featuring its members and their students. There will be more upcoming events announced soon.

CONGRATULATIONS to Masamichi Ando!
Student of Donna Griblin, member of our branch, Masamichi received a mark of 91% at his RCM Grade 4 violin exam back in January 2017 and was recently recognized as the recipient of the RCM Gold Medal for his achievement. Keep up the great work!
