In coordination with Müzewest, the Vancouver/Burnaby Branch is co-sponsoring an online workshop with Dr. Laszlo Nemes, a renowned music educator from Hungary. This is the first of a 4-part series on teaching different eras of music at the keyboard and will feature the Baroque Era. Dr. Nemes will begin with 15 minutes of musicianship activities that includes interval identification, rhythm clap backs, and recognizing forms. Then, he will demonstrate how to teach two keyboard selections by J.S. Bach. The first selection will be elementary level - for example, a dance from the Anna Magdalena Notebook. The second selection will be the late Intermediate level - such as a three-part Sinfonia. The workshop will be framed within the context of Kodály's emphasis on training to whole musician and having an exceptional ear.
