The East Vancouver Community Music School will holding its Celebrate Canada Music Day on Sunday, November 26th, at 308 East 8th Ave. in Vancouver.

The days activities begin at 1:00 with a composition workshop with John Oliver, a student recital at 2:00, with "colour commentary" by John Oliver, and a professional recital at 4:00, featuring violinist Josh Zubot, clarinetist Francois Houle, and cellist Peggy Lee. All events are free to the public and all are welcome to attend.

Although students of EVCMS faculty will have preference, students of BCRMTA teachers might be able to participate in the student recital. There will be a grand piano and music stands at the venue, with seating for about 80 - 100. An accompanist will be available, and will play with no charge to the students at the recital, but rehearsal time must be paid for by the student.
Interested teachers should contact Kathy Bjorseth at or by phone at (604)438-8092. Kathy will take information on the students and their repertoire, and let teachers know as soon as possible if their students can be included on the program. Please refer to attached poster for details.
