About the Vancouver/Burnaby Branch

There are approximately 180 private music educators in the Vancouver/Burnaby Branch of the BCRMTA representing the disciplines of: accordion, cello, clarinet, composition, flute, french horn, harp, harpsichord, organ, piano, recorder, saxophone, professional theory instruction, viola, violin, and voice. Members teach throughout Vancouver, Burnaby, and New Westminster as well as Richmond, Surrey, Coquitlam, and Port Moody. Each member must hold the requisite certification (or equivalent) from a recognized music institution and have a minimum of four years of teaching experience in order to qualify. The organization is operated by volunteers and supports its teacher and their students through a variety of activities including lectures, workshops, masterclasses, bursaries, recitals, and music festivals.
