To The Vancouver Musical Community,
It is with sadness that we inform you of the passing of Edward James Parker on Thursday, February 8, 2018.
Over a career spanning six decades, Mr. Parker nurtured and educated thousands of students. He was an active contributor to the Vancouver Branch, writing articles for our Teachers’ Forum and participating in countless workshops and festivals. From amateurs to professionals, we will remember him for his uncanny musical abilities, his unique sense of humour and of course his piano key scarf.

A service will be held at the Vancouver Academy of Music, 1270 Chestnut Street, Vancouver, Monday Feb 12 at 3:00pm.
The family will be establishing an Edward Parker Memorial Scholarship with more information coming in the near future.
